Bought a property that now has no electricity

I purchased a flat in Florida that was marketed by William and Sue Verster. On transfer registration, I took occupation of the flat and noticed that there was no electricity. Upon further investigation with William and Sue, we discovered that the circuitbreaker had been removed by City Power. William and Sue now have absolved themselves and the seller and made it very clear that it is my responsibility to get the electricity restored.<br> <br> Just as they were hounding me during the selling process to meet the deadlines and commitments, surely they should do the same to their client to ensure that the conditions of the sale are met? In other words, the flat needs to be in the same condition as when I viewed it and made an offer to purchase it.<br> <br> They must have an obligation to both the seller and the buyer to ensure that the transaction is closed off properly, but I suspect that since they have received their commission payout, there is no incentive for them to address this problem that happened BEFORE the property was registered in my name.<br> <br> Perhaps the Lapfrog tag line is right: prospective buyers must MOVE ON and MOVE UP and use an alternative, professional agency!
