Appalling service

Due to Leapfrog Durban Central not explaining the sales agreement properly to the buyer of my flat, occupational interest was only paid to me once the buyer took physical occupation of the premises leaving me out of pocket for the other two months. When I questioned their accountability in not having explained this to the client properly and asking them to reconsider their commission in the light of the circumstances, this was the response I received from the owner of Leapfrog Durban Central; Kim Hogben:

Dear Rene you have my final decision. I do not wish to discuss this further and I dont appreciate you telling me how we should do our job. I have been patient thus far however now you are overstepping yourself. We had an agreement you signed it and I would appreciate it if honour that.

Regards Kim

I find her response unacceptable and totally unprofessional. Despite all the frustrations of dealing with Leapfrog who clearly absolved themselves from any further responsibility once the sales agreement was signed, I have been patient and reasonable throughout this process. However as the client paying R43 000 for their service I have every right to question the levels of service that I have received, if this is not satisfactory. And certainly not to be told I was ‘overstepping the mark’.

I was put in this position due to their inefficiency. At the very least I would have expected an apology and some effort to try and make good and to resolve the situation.. I have had to deal directly with the buyer of my flat in an effort to resolve the situation myself as there was no effort made on the part of Leapfrog. It is agents like this that give the estate agency industry such a bad name and she should be struck off the list.

Avoid Leapfrog at all costs.
