Sub par product and worse after sales service

I had a very disappointing experience today at Le creuset, Constantia village. I purchased my second stove top kettle from less than a year and a half ago. The first one was rusted and out of warranty. I happily accepted the fact that it was out of warranty and bought a new one. Today when returning my kettle due to rust I was told that the warranty does not cover wear-and-tear. The store manager also said that due to the kettle been knocked it went into thermal shock which caused the rust, which is utter nonsense. When buying premium products, I do not expect rust to form after a year and a half. I am utterly disappointed with le creuset’s after sales service. I have always raved about their pots, but this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. Whatever you do do not purchase their kettles.
