Beware of the "Life-time warrantee" of le Creuset non-stick pans

Our family has been a big fan of le Creuset pot and pans. (Note: "has been"). In the last 10 years we have replaced nearly all our pots and pans with le Creuset. Recently, however, we noticed that the non-stick layer of one of the 3ply stainless-steel pans that had bought in 2015 is coming off. A second one is also showing similar signs. This happened to such a degree that we regard it as a health hazard. I took it to a local branch. According to their agent this happened because the pan is old. They offered to give us 30% discount on a new pan. I was wondering about the life-long warrantee, but did not bring it up. I checked the website, and it indeed says that the pans have a life-long warrantee. I took pictures of the pan and sent it to the customer care of le Creuset. They responded quickly and said this is normal wear-and-tear and normal wear-and-tear is not covered by the warrantee. I then asked the customer care if this indeed the case that after a few years, one should expect the non-stick layer of one of their top (and most expensive) ranges to come off? They then responded (again quickly) that they looked closely at the photos I had sent -and our pan was exposed to excessive heat. I assume this implies that the pan was left "dry" on a hot plate of the stove. We cook with gas and such a situation is highly unlikely. The customer care again suggested I should accept the "token of goodwill" by their store and buy me a new pan with 30% discount! We will never come near le Creuset products again. I think their apparent life-time warrantee is so empty that it comes close to being a **** and customers should be made aware of this.
