LDV South Africa Summary of Defects – LDV T60 Elite | VIN/Reg: [Add if needed] Purchased: 28 Feb 2025 from Hyundai Durban South Mobeni Timeline of Issues:15 Apr 2025 – 6,800km: Engine light + limp mode. DPF cleaned. Advised to use Sasol fuel only.28 May 2025 – 12,409km: Engine light + limp mode again. Radio LCD failed. Rear brake parts ordered. LDV SA Technical Manager attended. DPF button stopped working after repair – suspected disconnection.18 Jul 2025 – 2nd Service: Dealer claimed radio replaced + brakes repaired. Work split between BMW South Coast & BMW Pinetown due to lack of equipment. Jul 2025 – Jan 2026: Intermittent brake squeal continued. Told to use handbrake lever to temporarily resolve. Random engine light warnings persisted.30 Jan 2026: Radio LCD failed again. Dealer Principal PMB responded “we can do whatever we want” when complaint raised.4 Feb 2026: MIOSA case 514217 opened. Remains unresolved despite LDV undertakings.5 Mar 2026: LDV SA COO Neil Barker admitted service failures. Committed to factory-standard repair with Technical Manager oversight + courtesy car. 9–25 Mar 2026: Vehicle at LDV PMB for “final repair” – brakes, radio, DPF button. Collected 25 Mar 2026.20 May 2026: New defect – loud metal-on-metal engine noise not present before March repair. Vehicle returned to LDV PMB.21 May 2026: After 1.5hrs at dealer, told vehicle must be booked in again. No resolution provided.Current Status: Vehicle remains defective with recurring DPF, brake, and radio faults + new engine noise. Defects started within 2 months of purchase and persist after 15+ months and multiple repair attempts, including COO-level intervention. Dealership is 1hr from owner’s residence in Queensburgh, causing significant inconvenience.Legal Basis: Vehicle is not of good quality, durable, or safe as required by S55 of CPA 68 of 2008. LDV has failed to repair within reasonable time per S56 CPA despite all opportunities.
