Ford Mustang

I took delivery of a new Ford Mustang on 7 September 2017. From the moment I left the floor, the air conditioner was not working. I therefore had to take it back the next day, and after hours spent the problem could still not be identified, so I left with the air conditioner still not working. Today, 11 September, it is back with Ford Lazarus.

I am baffled why a brand new flagship vehicle (or any vehicle for that matter) can be given to a client with a faulty air conditioner. Surely this had to be picked up during the PDI? When I queried this I was met with numerous excuses, and was informed that the vehicle did pass the PDI and hence the problem must have been intermittent. I have however driven the vehicle for 5 days, and the air conditioner never worked whatsoever.

What further concerns me is that the PDI was performed on 25 August 2017. Thereafter the vehicle was still sent for fittings of optional extras, without a final PDI done. Surely the PDI should be performed immediately prior to delivery?

I have so far had an extremely disappointing experience with my new Mustang since taking delivery (the sales process was fantastic), and am concerned about the PDI process undertaken. Any shortcuts taken during the PDI process should be taken seriously as this could lead to more vehicles being affected, with some vehicles having potential life threatening oversights.
