LAWAID: ACTING AGAINST POPI ACT

Good day , my name is Nonkululeko Khumalo and I just got an sms saying “ This notification serves to confirm that I Nonkululeko Khumalo, with id number ******, gave consent to LawAid on 2024-02-23 to request/obtain a Credit report on my behalf with the objective to perform an affordability assessment relating to my current Debt exposure”.

I did not give consent. I did not give any company my ID number. This is against the POPI Act regulations and it’s an invasion of my privacy.

LawAid needs to apologise for this and stop whatever they are trying to do with my ID number.
