I drive a Huyndai Getz 1300 and needed the clutch to be repaired. Laubscher's Motors in Porterville quoted me R3454. I accepted the quote and took my car in for repairs on Wednesday. My wife was assured the car would be ready on Thursday at the start of the long weekend. On Thursday morning she called to find out if the car would be ready by the end of the day. Mr. Albert Hills told her that there is a slight complication. The clutch in this model is located in a very awkward position and that repairs are delayed. They are closing up for the long weekend and can only continue on Tuesday. By Wednesday they were still busy. 3 days to repair a clutch. When the invoice came the amount was more than R5500. Not the amount we agreed upon. We were never notified or consulted. This was indeed not the quote we accepted. Mr. Hill made no effort to contact us about the change. It was just blindly accepted that it is okay to alter the quote without our knowledge or consent. I contacted another repair shop that specialized in Hyundai and they assured me that repairs would take no longer than 3 hours. Certainly not 3 days. Mr. Hills is certainly not expecting me to pay for their incompetence?
