Stalling on deposit and I had to pay for walls even when they did not paint the walls before the new tenant moved in.

I had to pay for walls to be painted, and they did not paint the walls before the new tenant moved in!! I moved out of the unit at the end of my lease period. (end October 2020) There were 2 walls (10m2) to be painted. I waited for the 21 working days they have in their Annexture A on their contract to pass, so I can ask my deposit back. Nobody contacted me during that time. On 14 December, way passed the 21 working days with silence from their side I contacted them and asked my deposit back. Only then they said I have to pay R1250 for the walls. I asked for a quote. They said I pay half and the owner pays half. I did not see a quote, as Desiree said the original amount was R5000,00 and I should be grateful. They also added a cleaning fee of R600, but I left the unit sparkling!! Now only Desiree speak to the agent and he confirmed the unit was clean and neat, then they removed the cleaning fee. On 15 December the new tenant moved into the unit, without the walls being painted, Still I have to pay. Then they closed for the December holidays and I have to wait until January!! Come January 2021 I continued my fight with them. They finally sent me the quote, which was a shopping list of walls to be painted, plugs to be added, ceilings to be painted and NO mention of the 2 walls I was liable for. I refused. This quote had nothing to do with me!! I found my own quotes, much cheaper and then they said my quotes were more than theirs. which was not, as the owner and me were to share the cost, so it works out less!! I even got a quote from THEIR service provider, which was less than the numbers they were throwing around!! Now they were quiet. No response from them. I finally gave up and said they could deduct the money (R1250) for the walls. It was nearly 3 months later. When I got my deposit in my bank on Tuesday, they deducted another R55 extra, what for I don't know and don't care!!! Please avoid this leasing agency. They will gladly take your deposit, but the trouble start when you move out. They don't care if you were a good tenant or not, they just don't want to return your whole deposit!!
