Landstar Property Solutions take advantage of tenants

Hi,

I wonder if you could help, as i am turning to hellopeter as my last resort.

I have been renting an apartment managed by Landstar Prop since Decemeber 2017. Since then i have experience countless issue in my interactions with this agency.

The reason for this post is since mid June 2018 the lounge window broke (through no forceful action on my part) and it is now October 2018 and this window has still not been repaired since. Bear in mind that i have diligently paid rent during this period.

I have reached my wits end and have notified the agency that i will not be paying the rent owing for the current month until i have received confirmation that the window will be repaired (Date of repair) or a simple acknowledgement that they will have the window repaired.

upon my dealings with various people within the agency (Chantel and Marissa) they portrayed a disgustingly poor attitude and offered little to no assistance in this matter.

As stated before, i made the agency aware that rent will not be paid until the aforementioned is addressed, and that i am well aware that there is a clause which states penalties will be incurred should rent not be received by the 1st of the following month. To which these unhelpful ladies responded that i will be liable for penalties and that they as an agency have rights to penalize tenants who withhold rent.

It seems like it is honestly a losing battle trying to fight this agency so i am reaching out to you at hellopeter for some guidance or assistance.
