Landsdowne Property Management should be renamed to LETSDOWNE Property Management

Since Landsdowne has been appointed as the property management company to manage our body corporate in February 2015, it has been one frustrating experience. The initial water meter reading take-on data they received was incorrect and when I tried to have it corrected I was met with apathy.

After emails and calls I decided to cut my losses by just paying the incorrect amount rather than to engage in a legal battle to correct it. It would be cheaper. I also decided that in future I'll keep record of the meter readings myself, since this is the attitude that I will be dealing with. In the last year it has now happened 3 times where incorrect water readings have been recorded and billed.

On one instance the corrected invoice I received had the correct water meter reading but then I noticed it was for another unit in our complex!!! One also have to email multiple times just to get the invoice corrected. The most recent incident occurred end of August 2017. Since I detected the error, I wrote 7 emails requesting the correction.

The initial email was acknowledged and then just passed on with no action. Today, out of frustration I tried to phone their office. To my surprise the number on the invoice is not even the number of Landsdowne. I then tried a number from the email signature and was met by a recorded PR message stating their extensive service products!!! In short, I'm starting to question Landsdowne's accounting practises because if it is happening to my invoice, it must happen to others as well.

There are 28 units in our complex and in a hypothetical worst case scenario, if Landsdowne 'by accident' invoices incorrect water meter readings resulting in an extra R100 paid to them ... we all can do the math.
