Appalling Service Delivery

Landsdowne rented out my apartment (furnished) in Bryanston. Besides having to follow up on my rent payment on a monthly basis, they don't really do much for the management fee they charge. Then the tenant up and left at the end of March 2016 which I know is not their fault but I was told that the agent was instructed to inspect my unit. The feedback I received from her was that it was very dusty but everything was fine. I asked her to please arrange for it to be cleaned and that I would like to put it on the market to sell it. I was paid my April rental from the deposit with R500 held back for cleaning. This was on the 5th of April. She told me that she had prospective investors that she was taking to view my unit but never came back to me with the outcome of these appointments. I was always the one contacting her to ask what the status was. The lack of communication left much to be desired. I also asked what was happening with trying to recover the money from the tenant for defaulting, cleaning, DSTV and electricity with no feedback. I went to view my unit this past Friday, 29 April after basically a month of nothing being done by Landsdowne. I was absolutely disgusted and disappointed in the state of my unit. It was filthy!! There are dirt marks all over the walls, the shower is an absolute state of filth, there is layers upon layers of dirt and dust all over the floors and furniture, the mat in the lounge that had been cleaned before the tenant moved in was filthy and had burn marks all over it. The couch I had cleaned before the tenant moved in is filthy. This is how this so called professional agent is showing my unit to supposedly prospective buyers. If I was a buyer, there is no chance in hell I would purchase that property in the state that it is in! I haven't even received feedback about the inventory check to make sure that there were no damages to my crockery/cutlery/furniture etc. Needless to say, I highly recommend that anyone thinks twice before ever using Landsdowne for renting their property or selling it. They take your money and run on the rental side and do NOTHING for you as a prospective client. The agent in question just called me to apologise and made excuses after sending an email stating the above, this morning. The apology is one thing but the pathetic excuses just made me angrier!
