A tenant's worst nightmare

Once again, Kelly Nell's actions at Landsdowne demonstrate a pattern of incompetence that must be addressed. Landsdowne's repeated hiring of inept individuals reflects poorly on the organisation's standards. Despite the legal obligation for timely financial statements, I have yet to receive mine for the month of May. Alarmingly, mere days after rent is due, I am confronted with a letter of demand, disregarding the legal protocol outlined in Section 129, which mandates a 20-business-day grace period following a missed installment.

Despite my efforts to obtain the statement, including phone calls and WhatsApp messages to the designated building communication number, no response was forthcoming. Only due to the amount specified in the demand letter was I able to promptly remit payment, accompanied by proof of payment.

Subsequently, upon my return from travel, I was shocked to receive an SMS from Landsdowne erroneously claiming I owed double the rent in arrears. When I contacted Landsdowne, I was directed to Kelly, who not only failed to provide the overdue statement but also exhibited a dismissive attitude. Her response was riddled with fallacies, including the assertion that sending a demand letter without exhausting other means of recovery is ethically and legally sound—an assertion unfounded in any credible legal framework.

Furthermore, Kelly's demeanor during our interaction was unacceptably rude, corroborated by multiple witnesses within the building. Her selective responsiveness—claiming to prioritise emails over WhatsApp messages, only to later admit neglecting her email inbox—further exemplifies her lack of professionalism.

It is evident that the standards of competence and aptitude, fundamental to effective property management, are glaringly absent in Kelly Nell's conduct. Such shortcomings undermine the trust and confidence essential for a harmonious tenant-landlord relationship.
