Land Rover Umhlanga fit Nexen Tyres Unsafe Tyres on vehicles

I bought my Disco 4 from Land Rover Umhlanga in November 2016 with 73500km's on the clock. It was delivered with brand new Land Rover approved Nexen tyres. On Friday 23 February 2018 travelling from Johannesburg to Richards Bay, the vehicle started to shake and with the brake and traction alarms sounding. At first, I thought there is a puncture and when I pulled over could not find anything wrong. I continue driving but had to pull over again as the vehicle was behaving dangerously. Now I check for loos wheels etc. but found nothing. As it was dark and I had about 10km’s to home, I limped on at low speed. The next morning, I checked each tyre to discover that the right hand rear is ballooning. The treat came loose and the pressure from the tyre cause the threat to bulge out. I contacted Land Rover Umhlanga as I was to return to Johannesburg the next day. The tyres had done about 20 00 km’s at that stage. On 6th March 2018 Land Rover Umhlanga rep**** and arranged for Minty’s to replace that tyre. On Friday 9th August 2019, we were travelling to Polokwane when the same happened in Kran****rt outside Middelburg. I pulled over to investigate and found the same happened to Nexen number 2! We continued to a safer place and had to unpack the car to free the spare wheel. O, and this Disco 4 Is my ‘pension-car’ so being over 60, here I am with my wife next to the road replacing a ballooned Nexen tyre supp**** by Land Rover. So, after that we continued our journey just for the same to happen outside Roetan! Needless to say, Nexen number 3 was now ballooned. Well with Land Rover being designed to only carry ONE spare wheel and this being used on Nexen #2, we had to hoppedy-hop all the way to Polokwane. Saturday I contacted Land Rover Umhlanga with no reply. My daughter from Perth landed in SA on Sunday and we had to meet her in Johannesburg. Monday we phoned everyone and his dog to assist with absolutely no reply from Minties as their phones were not answered. I called suppliers listed on Nexen’s web site but they indicated that only Minties are supplying Nexen in the country. On Tuesday I bought a 2nd hand General tyre and we were on our way with the nightmare of 2 remaining NEXEN tyres still on the Disco. My visit with my daughter was around arguing with Land Rover Umhlanga and Minties after Minties inspected the tyres and stating the these are totally the wrong tyres for the Discovery. The specialists also blamed the ballooning of the tyres to the fact that the vehicle was used off-road! Which so by the way was not the case, but they were adamant that it was the wrong tyres fitted by Land Rover Umhlanga. Phone calls again to Land Rover Umhlanga and Minties Durban while waiting outside Minties JHB, ended in Minties offering me a discaount of 37% on new Nexens!! Back at home I contacted Land Rover SA for assistance, send them photos of the tyres and their technical department indicated that the tyres was not suitable for the Disco. Land Rover Umhlanga Was ”We have fitted Nexen tyres to a large number of vehicles and with only great feedback from clients.” And “I have also spoken to the tyre supplier regarding and the following cars are fitted with Nexen tyres direct from factory to name but a few: Porsche, Cayenne, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Hyundai IX 35.” Land Rover SA could not resolve this and their specialist after inspecting the tyres could not differentiate between ballooned tyres and threat chipping which they identified as the problem? Now NEXEN NUMBER 4 is shaking…what must I do?
