Worse landlord - Glyn Manley owner of 20 Salisbury Road Kenilworth
My boss rented a property for almost three years, during which his rental deposit was held by the landlord. Following the end of the tenancy, we requested that the deposit be refunded together with the interest accrued, as provided for under South African rental legislation. Unfortunately, this issue appears to have been overlooked and remains unanswered. During the tenancy, several maintenance concerns and improvements to the aging property were raised, but many were never attended to. After the final inspection, which I personally attended, we received written confirmation that everything was in order and that no charges would be levied against the tenant. Despite this, a list of claims was later submitted after the fact. Based on this experience, I would encourage prospective tenants to carefully consider all aspects of the rental arrangement, ensure that everything is documented in writing, and fully understand their rights and obligations before deciding to rent this property or enter into an agreement with this landlord.
