Unqualified/useless accounting staff
I was surprised when I checked HelloPeter and saw how many customers were having Lancet (Dr Mauaff) accounting system problems. Months old service bills are NOT being claimed from the medical aids, but merely demanded from customers; nasty text messages demand immediate payments; enquiries to a helpdesk are pointless because "we are experiencing increased volumes in our email"; then equally nasty debt collectors start calling with demands for payment. It is like talking to a deaf person.... explanations get ignored and the cycle starts all over again. Eventually a notification from the medical aid arrives (for the first time), reflecting a submitted claim and a payment authorisation (for a service rendered 3months before). Somebody woke up and realised that they had never submitted a medaid claim... however, accounts department starts the cycle ALL over AGAIN!!!. Customer must Pay or Else!! What a useless bunch... I shall strongly advise medical practitioners to use alternative labs in future.
In short, my query was referred to an escalation supervisor. Despite my extremely annoyed approach, this person was courteous, respectful and very professional. My emails were promptly responded to, documents I had requested were provided and facts were clarified. I am strongly of the opinion that the organisation is serious about fixing admin components that are currently leading to similar situations as mine. Fair is fair and I believe that Lancet Labs deserve credit points for the handling of my problem.
