********* and disgusting behaviour by Lancet Al Kadi
Good day,
My daughter was born on 08 June 2018. Lancet (at Ahmed Al Kadi hospital) conducted some sort of tests on her to the value of R563. I was not aware of this, nor did myself or my wife give permission/authorisation for it to be done. Only when ICT contacted me in February 2019 (over 8 months later!), did I find out that this test was done. No statement, contact from Lancet, or anything of the sort was received before then. I followed this up with Lancet practice, the final feedback received was that they are willing to reduce the amount to R400.
Now note the following: 1. Myself or my wife DID NOT give permission or authorise for this test was done. This is simply medical malpractice. 2. This account was sent to me only 8 MONTHS LATER. 3. My child was covered under medical aid during her stay in hospital. Why did Lancet not follow due diligence and claim it from the medical aid at the time, or even during the reasonable claim period (4 months) thereafter?
Taking the above into account, I am not liable for this account. This was a mess up by Lancet from the start, and Lancet should take accountability for its actions.
FYI - the reason given by Lancet Al Kadi as to why they cannot write it off, is due to them having handed the account over to ICT and hence they have incurred those costs. What sort of sick, ********* and twisted "logic" is that?? Mistakes made by yourselves cannot be passed onto the customer!
After reading the rest of the reviews on Hellopeter about Lancet, I am not even surprised in the least. A dirty company to deal with.
Now watch how I will be given a generic response to this post.
Thank you for the complaint, I have escalated this to the accounts supervisors your reference number is ***.
