Not knowing how to clean up their own mess

On the 17th October 2021 I miscarried. A D&C was performed on the 17th October 2021 and bloods were taken. At this point I was on Sizwe Medical Aid. At the beginning of April 2022 I started receiving communication that I owe Lancet almost R5000 for bloods taken on the 18th October 2021. I contacted the call centre a few times, telling them that Lancet did not take any bloods on the 18th, but rather the 17th October. I was told that I had to go to the hospital to retrieve the correct date and I refused, telling them I do not work for Lancet and that they should have done their job correctly from the onset. I then got the same account dated the 17th October 2021. I then contacted them again, asking how they are claiming money from me, when the account will be considered an old account by medical aid. They told me that they submitted it to medical aid and it was rejected as a stale account.

Lancet Laboratories took more than 3 months to claim from medical aid. When they did, they submitted an incorrect date. Now, when someone at Lancet was sleeping on the job, I have to now pay up? I am sorry, but this is not how it works.

This account has been sent to me now again in February 2023. I have phoned the call centre twice. Both times I was put on hold to speak to a supervisor or manager and both times the call centre agents hung up on me. The last one promised to call me back and of course, over a day later I am still waiting for her call back.

I would like to know when Lancet is actually planning on fixing this matter. Or do I now need to go to Carte Blanche and ask them to assist because the only time we are listened to is when we expose companies as big as Lancet. How are your people that should have done their job correctly, from the onset, not taken to task and disciplinary and made to sort this mess out and the incompetence and lack of professionalism being taken out on a patient? A patient that would rather give the work to Ampath because Lancet Laboratories never seems to know what they are doing?

Thank you for your response. Please note that in 2022 I complained about the same things and I received the same feedback that the matter was being looked at, but nothing was done thereafter.
When will I receive an actual response?
