Miracle man on ventilator expected to pay

My fathers medical aid had contacted him via statements indicating Lancet was only partially paid, due to the dr using an incorrect ICD code. He was actually technically on a ventilator for some time so he could not communicate with the family. I requested that they reprocess the claim and please advise. I informed Lancet about this and they agreed to await the outcome. Unfortunately this was a lie. Soon they had handed this over to the ITC with MY DETAILS attached and I was now being harrassed daily for payment of a bill which was actually technically for my father and legally not mine. I phoned and explained the reprocessing numerous times to Lancet they chose to ignore this. Eventually after seven days of threats of legal action I PAID A BILL WHICH WAS NOT MINE. Low and behold a few days later the medical aid did pay out and now Lancet has been paid twice. Im not holding my breath to get a refund.... My advise if your medical aid covers other pathologists rather use them. Ampath, Vermaak and Vernote are good examples of alternatives to Lancet. I wont be using Lancet agaim as long as I have a choice.
