LANCET UNPROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTS SERVICE

I actually wished that there could be a MINUS STAR under the rating, as I stand amazed at the fact that Lancet can be so unprofessional. In JANUARY I was sent for blood tests to confirm a pregnancy. I then submitted the statement to my Medical Aid for claim. During Feb, I got a reminder that the account was still outstanding. So I have resent it to my medical aid. My medical aid then contacted me and mentioned that the Practice number that was on Lancet Statement was incorrect and that I should contact Lancet to rectify on their statement, as the medical aid can't amend it on their side.

I contacted my Doctor, got the practice number and phoned Lancet, just to be told that I should give it to my medical aid. I explained to them that the medical aid needs the amendment on Lancet's statement. Needless to say, they left out the LAST 3 DIGITS of the practice number. According to the medical aid, they search under the LAST 7 digits, therefore they cannot pick up the doctor. I contacted Lancet again to rectify.

LAST WEEK, my medical aid contacted me, stating that Lancet is requesting now the ICD10 CODES, AS WELL AS THE PRACTICE NUMBER. Lancet - how can you request the ICD10 codes from the PATIENT?? How can you do tests if you don't know what codes to use?? That aside, I contacted LANCET AGAIN, and asked why they needed the ICD10 codes, BECAUSE IT IS REFLECTING ON THE STATEMENT. The lady I spoke to could not answer as to why (Precious) wanted the ICD10 codes.

I then asked the lady (Lerato) to rectify the practice number. If you search on the BHF registered members board, you WILL IN FACT FIND that my doctor is registered. BUT IN ORDER FOR THE DOCTOR TO BE FOUND, THEY NEED TO ADD THE OMITTED 3 NUMBERS AT THE END.

I was assured that it will be rectified. Today - ANOTHER WEEK LATER, I call Lancet again to request the updated statement, just to be told it's not updated. I was speaking to Macey, and she put me on hold for almost 10 minutes. I decided to drop the call and call back immediately, just to find out she has GONE OUT TO LUNCH!!!

I have never experienced such dissatisfying service! I am trying to sort out a statement so that the account can be paid, and Lancet seems more interested in their own (lunch) interests than resolving a matter that's been ongoing for months now.

And to ask to speak to a Supervisor or Manager, just gets me placed back on hold without any success! And they don't even have the audacity to ask if they can get a Supervisor or Manager to return the call.

I am seriously unimpressed.
