Lancet takes a month to provide NIPT test results - after using wrong kit. Shocking Service!!!

I approached Lancet to do the Panorama NIPT test on 17 October, after being strongly advised not to do so by my Gynea's receptionist who said "We only make use of Ampath". I however insisted, because Lancet makes use of the Panorama test, which is specifically geared toward twins. Upon drawing the blood, i told the ladies that i am expecting twins.

On the 25th of October, i contacted Lancet to follow up on my results. On the 26th, they contacted me to let me know they accidentally used the wrong kit, and i had to come in and redo the test, which i duly did. They then indicated that my blood would be sent to the US express that day at 17:00.

Monday 5 November, i went back to Lancet to follow up. I was then told that my blood only reached the US on the 1st of November (so another 5 days wasted). They indicated that i will be contacted the next morning, and that the pathologist will phone the US to get feedback. On Tuesday i contacted them and requested feedback again, after which i was told that my results would be out on Wednesday evening (due to time delay in US), so i should be able to contact my doctor on Thursday morning for feedback. On Thursday i was told that the results are not yet out, and that i would get feedback on Friday morning. On Friday morning i was told my results are not yet out and i will get feedback within 24 to 48 hours. This has now also come and gone. This morning i contacted Lancet again, only to hear that there is no results and no feedback.

This is shocking service!! Please understand that you are not doing this as a favour to me, but rather because i am actually paying for the test. You should know which kits to use, as this is your core business function, and if you mess it up, then you should chase the results and provide proper feedback. I have my next appointment on Wednesday (almost a month after initially going to you for the blood test), and will have to show up red-faced because i insisted on using you.

This is beyond appalling service, and i now know why they prefer using Ampath.

Get your act together Lancet.

Someone from your customer care department just called to let me know the results have in fact been released over the weekend, so matter has been resolved. Please, please work on your communication, and follow up when necessary in order to provide proper feedback to your clients?
