Lancet Polokwane (Grobler street)
I arrived at Lancet Polokwane around 7am because they operate 24hrs,to do draw blood and test for Covid 19 because I have an operation soon. I got to Lancet and felt unwelcomed the moment I mentioned I have to do a Covid 19 test. The treatment from reception made me feel I had Covid 19 because she told me to immediately go outside without looking at the referral form I had from my Dr that mentioned I had to have blood drawn too. I went outside in the cold, and was told NOT by the Lancet staff but a patient that I need to go back inside to get a Covid 19 test form, I got it and went outside to complete it. Stood in the queue until one angel (consultant who does Covid swabs) came outside to greet, I then explained to her that I came early because the Lancet website said they operated 24hrs so I was hoping I would get tests done before going to work only to be told they only do test from 8:00. She listened and put herself in my shoes, she showed so much empathy and was friendly. She broke all rules to accommodate me and the patients that were standing outside IN THE COLD. And opted to start earlier than she should. I appreciate her humanity and listening skills, she looked at my form and performed all my Dr required. Now THAT for me explains the importance of the front line and why we need to appreciate them. I didn’t get her name but She made me regain confidence in the frontline and proved that certain jobs are not just jobs But a Calling. Thank you Mam, you deserve a raise and promotion ❤️❤️❤️❤️ May God protect you during this trying time
