Lancet Laboratories incorrect codes used

<p>In October of 2016 my mother was admitted in hospital and had blood works done, after release claims were submitted to medical aid. Wrong codes were used as per medical aid. I have followed up myself wit h Lncet more than 4 / 5 times copies of doctors requests of test required obtained and submitted . How would a patient know what codes should accompany what request. The feedback received from Lancet is that that is the general code used and cannot be ammended. Claim was loged at Medical counci,l medical council feedback that indeed incorrect code used for doctors test request. Medical aid willing to pay claim if code was ammended to correct code as mom is pensioner living on state grant, Lancet still refuse and state this cannot be done. Patients has to pay for codes that is applicable between medical schems and labs. We constantly receiving sms to state that we need to pay this claim, claim was today paid by me and we are NOT HAPPY at all as we had to borrow this R1533.80 to be able to pay this test.</p> <p>How can they exspect pensioners to pay for their mistakes and their lack of investigating correct codes to be used. Why do we need to do their work for them.</p> <p>This is TOTALLY unacceptable ...</p> <p> </p>

Besides the above happening to us , I totally forgot to state that I received Pathology Reports for the wrong person, I am in possesion of some one elses adress, mediacal aid nr, id, nr, test done, cell phone numbers, age , full names etc. If I am a ******** this can be used againts that poor person trusting that their details are confidential.

This is the service you gets from LANCET...... Close your doors please....

We apologise for the delayed response to your post on HP, however, we ask you to refer to your email that you sent to us on 02 November where we have responded to your requests by advising that the codes we used were correct. Any change of code on our side may mean that a test (other than the one requested by your doctor) was done.

The Laboratory form was also sent to you to onward forward to Bonitas. Further communication was received from you advising on the incorrect forms received. This was subsequently corrected. Bonitas also advised that they will remit payment on certain items that they have rejected. This was done yet reversed by them again.

All tests that were performed were requested by Dr Muller and any shortfalls by the Medical aid are payable by the member.

Regards
