Lancet Laboratories ***********
On 4 September last year I got authorisation from Discovery medical aid to have a Fine Needle Aspiration after a suspicious mass was found in my lung and I believed this to mean that Discovery would pay in full. Lancet kept sending me the account for R17,000 saying that Discovery hadn't paid and I eventually found out that the wrong ICD 10 and procedure codes were incorrect. It has taken 5 months and 156 emails of me telling them change the codes in order for the account to be paid. 1 line item for R1441.30 hasn't been paid, which just happens to be for the FNA which is exactly what I got authorisation for. I have since had PET/CT scan and 32 rounds of radiation therapy for lung cancer and have now depleted my Oncology benefit. If Lancet would have used the correct codes on their claim, they would have been paid in full last September. I WILL NOT BE PAYING for something that I got full authorisation for so LANCET, stop harassing me.
