Lancet Laboratories and ********* business behaviour

I went to the Lancet Laboratories in Stanger, KwaDukuza, with a list of bloods that I had to take make for a checkup. Upon arrival I was asked if the bloods would be cash or medical aid. I stated that it would be medical aid. However the admins told me that it would be a bit higher than cash price. The cash price was R1600. I did the bloods because I did not have that much of cash and I knew that if the medical aid pays then there will be a short fall of maybe a R1000 to R1500. After bloods were done and claim processed to the medical aid. The medical aid then sent me the claim status. To my surprise Lancet claim R6700. The medical aid only paid R2000. I called my medical aid to check why so little was paid and I was told that those are the fees that they pay for. I then contacted Lancet to find out why is there such a big difference, I was told that I was charged at medical aid rates. Now my argument with them was that it was the same service and had I had the R1600 I was going to pay cash. I asked if this was ethical and I was told it was.

I now have to pay R4000+ cash as shortfall for something that I could have paid R1600. This is ********* business behavior and I believe many South Africans find themselves in such traps with these medical bodies. I need help as I believe that this is day light *******.
