Incorrect and wrong blood tests
My 9 months old daughter was admitted to Louis Pasteur hospital on 11 November. Blood was taken to be tested as requested by her doctor. What saddens and is leading me to email Lancet today is that on the 16th of November, a Lancet agent came and took my daughter telling me that her doctor called and ordered more blood to be taken for testing. My daughter is only 9 months and obviously needles is something that is extremely painful to her. Couples with seperatopn anxiety. She cried her eyes out , i could hear her from the room I was in.
He told me i cant be inside with her as he injects her. And I accepted that because even the last time they took blood i didnt go with her.
He came back with two cottons and solotapes one on her wrist and one on the upper arm.
As he brought her back he told me the doctor ordered an HB test if I am not mistaken. And I told him the doctor was here the day before and he didnt say anything to me. Nor did the nurses/sisters. So i was concerned. But figured i will get more information from the doctor when he comes that afternoon.
He proceeded, the Lancet agent, to look at her file and now said the required test was already done and he was not sure why the doctor requested another test. Mind you ,Old this time he said he injected her my daughter was fighting him and he actually did not take any blood. While she has multiple infection marks. I have pictures. He left and said he will come back.
When the doctor came i asked him and he said he didnt call he didnt order anything. And the nurses checked with whatever or whoever and there was no call and no ordered test and it was actually confirmed that it was the wrong room. Wrong child.
The pain my daughter felt due to such a "mistake" is making me very angry.
I put the agent at fault for giving me false information and subjecting my poor baby to pain and terror.
