Exploitation into paying for services that was not requested
Lancet laboratory is holding me at ransom. On 18 June 2025, I took my daughter to the doctor, who ordered blood tests to be conducted at the lab. We attended the lab with the requisite note and the tests were performed. Unfortunately, a dispute arose when I received SMSes and emails stating that I owed Lancet. I then made enquiries, which led to a series of exchanges with agents that did not provide adequate assistance. I subsequently contacted my medical aid, which confirmed that Lancet had conducted tests not ordered by the doctor, resulting in rejected claims. Lancet claims that these tests were necessary as part of a group of tests ordered, but this was done without my consent. I am now receiving multiple emails requesting payment for tests that were not authorised. I believe that Lancet is attempting to exploit me by demanding payment for unrequested services. Can I request that this account be closed, as I am unwilling to pay for services not requested?
