DON'T USE LANCET IF THERE IS ANY ALTERNATIVE.

My partner has been in two Life Hospitals and one Netcare facility almost continuously since about 6th February 2026. In that time both hospitals used the services of Lancet. In some cases my Medical Aid company either did not pay the claim in full or only in part. Lancet at no time forwarded an invoice but just continued to treat the patient and add the cost to my account. Only today, 21st Aug., did they send a statement which they expect me to pay but at no time was I consulted as to whether the treatment should go ahead. In addition I was advised by a woman in their accounts department that she could not speak to me, the guarantor, but only to the patient who is aged 90 and not capable of answering questions, despite this the demand for payment came to my cell phone, not to the patient's, and indicates that they must have known the number and obtained this from the form I filled in at the time of his admission when I stood as guarantor.
