Consumer should not be responsible for company admin errors

The fact that this has happened now TWICE is unacceptable.

In the first instance, in 2014/2015, lancet did not submit documentation to discovery properly and then tried to get me to pay for it. After months of threatening me I came on to hellopeter and they quickly wrote it off as a bad debt. As you can imagine I was relieved to close that chapter in my life.

Cue one month later: December 2016. I had my second baby and the clinic I had him in filled in a form incorrectly, citing the name of the clinic instead of the Paed’s name in the one block. Discovery denied the claim because of this error and so I went back to the clinic, got them to fix the form and they sent it back to lancet for resubmission to discovery (it had to be done this way). That was 29 March 2017. I have all of this information on an email chain confirming that lancet did in fact receive the form and all lancet admin had to do was forward the document to discovery. This never happened. Another years worth of phone calls from lancet personnel, explaining the story 100 times to them, as well as to their debt collectors.

Then today, email notification that I am being sued now by lancet for failure to pay this account. It is less than R300. I know I could pay it, but it is the principle that I am fighting. It is not my mistake. I have done EVERYTHING I could have done to get this sorted out.

For reference to the poor lancet person that will hopefully read this and check my account- the fateful day was dated either the 9th or 10th December 2016 and was for the outstanding amount of R392.40. Please can this error be fixed. I am so tired of lancet and I want this chapter finished in my life.
