COMPLAINT TO THE SOUTH AFRICAN HEALTH PRODUCTS REGULATORY AUTHORITY

AS THE LATEST REVIEWS REVEAL, THERE IS A NEVER-ENDING STREAM OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT LANCET, MANY SUGGESTING BLATANT MALPRACTICE. I SENT THEIR MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION DEPT. THE FOLLOWING RESPONSE (EXTRACT): I’m not pointing a finger at you - because I know it is Marketing & Communication’s job to polish Lancet’s public image - but my research indicates your comments are wishful thinking. Quite frankly, I believe that Lancet is shockingly ********* – even ********. As the many, many comments on Hello Peter indicate, and more crucially as I can personally attest to, Lancet has no ‘value and respect’ for customers. My experience is that Lancet treats its customers like dirt! That is my experience and that is also the experience of the many customers complaining on Hello Peter – where 92% of respondents rank you in the lowest rungs! Generally the view of many clients/patients is that Lancet is: • *********** • Dishonest • Greedy and grasping; and • Shows a total lack of care towards patients. (I will insist on calling your clients ‘patients’ as I want to highlight that you are offering a medical service and there is consequently an obligation regarding duty of care and ethical treatment). • In addition, Lancet has been found guilty of price fixing and bribing doctors – ******** activities - and I am wondering why Lancet did not lose the applicable licences when those findings were made. • Harassment and bullying from your Accounts Dept is a widespread problem. In many cases, Lancet’s record keeping is actually the problem but you bully on regardless. You do not even spare the recently bereaved. There is a culture of bullying in your Accounts department. I personally experienced this, with your Accounts Dept constantly phoning me and trying to entrap me into cancelling the Lancet contract – despite the fact that the matter was with lawyers and they should not even have contacted me directly! We were forced to send Lancet a legal warning to desist.
