Can Lancet afford to refund overcharges? Or have they run out of money?
Dear Lancet. As promised yesterday in a direct message to you, in a final attempt to let you resolve this privately - here's the public "naming and shaming" that seems to be the only way to get things done these days.
It's been 3 weeks since Lancet overcharged me. I have now received an invoice with the correct medical aid details. But I really don't think 3 weeks is a reasonable time for someone to have to wait for a refund. Let's see if you can do more than "escalate" this matter.
From you to me this afternoon - Good day, thank you for bringing this to our attention, we have escalated the matter. Your reference number is: ******x. Regards, Lancet Laboratories.
From me to you yesterday via a private message, after numerous pointless emails back and forth - Nearly 3 weeks ago, I had some tests done at one of your Johannesburg labs. I was not given an invoice. Perhaps because, as it later turned out, I was overcharged. Now there is a credit on my account. I have asked more than once for this to be repaid to me. I have supp**** my banking details. I have also asked that the fictitious medical aid details listed on the account be corrected, so I can send the invoice to Discovery. To date, no refund has been received, and no proper invoice has been sent. Does every interaction these days have to turn into a public "name and shame" on social media before anything gets done? If so, that's what going to happen tomorrow, if I haven't received a proper invoice and a refund of the amount owed to me.
