Billing for test not requested by doctor

Lancet is expecting me to pay for a test that my medical aid rejected for the reason \test not on lab form\". Lancet instant I pay. The last correspondence I got was an email stating that the test was part of the profile and because the medical aid rejected the claim I'm liable. I checked with the Medical Aid and the test is covered. It was only rejected because the doctor did not request the test. I have been with Bonitas for years and they have never requested the lab form for blood work before. The fact that they requested the form indicates that this is not a routine test and they wanted to confirm that the test was requested. So how can a routine test and a non-routine test be combined in the same profile as you say? And if the two are on the same profile, why after lancet submit the lab form to the Medical Aid and they rejected it because of reason \"test not on lab form\" did Lancet not inform the Medical Aid that the tests were on the same profile. Surely if this was above board the Medical Aid would have accepted the explanation and paid for the test. I hope to get some positive feedback, failing which I will have to raise a complaint with the relevant medical association"
