Are Lancet 419 ******** Now, Or Just Plain ***********?

Like everyone else it seems, I'm here to write about Lancet's ***** accounts department. After having tests done in June 2021, and specifically asking the team to send me my statement via e-mail, should anything be payable, I received nothing (no results, no statement - nothing). This week, I suddenly start receiving a string of phone calls from Lancet (ring, drop call). I'm not talking one or two - I'm talking about 4 in one day - amounting to harassment for what I assumed to be nothing, considering that I hadn't heard a peep from them before. After several days of this happening, I FINALLY receive an SMS claiming that I owe Lancet money, demanding that I pay into account X. A MONTH AND A HALF AFTER the services were performed, with no invoice / statement?? I still haven't received my actual statement, and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay a stranger claiming to be Lancet Labs demanding payment via SMS. Financial ***** is rife, with ************ using exactly the same channel YOU chose, SMS, to ****** money from people. The police and banking sectors specifically ask people NOT to fall victim to this type of communication, but apparently Lancet sees themselves as above the law, as well as above commonplace business practice.

Wake up, Lancet. SMS is not a business tool, nor a bookkeeping tool. You should be sending your statements in the channel requested by the patient. As a matter of fact, for legal & record purposes, all sensitive financial information should be sent via an encrypted mail (POPIA anyone?), not SMS.

My friends own a small ****a shop, and they run their ledger more comprehensively than you do yours. WAKE UP and get your act together.
