Appalling Service - Billing

Most disappointed at the policies practiced by Lancet Laboratories. On 9 May 2017 I visited the laboratory situated at the Umhlanga hospital.

I asked the Consultant to quote me on the Cash rate and Medical aid rate. I was advised that only the Cash rate could be quoted on and they could not provide me with the Medical aid rate. However the Consultant assured me that the Cash rate would be cheaper and suggested that I pay cash and submit the claim to Discovery for a refund.

To this end I paid the requested cash rate of R 917.00. I then submitted the claim to Discovery, however I was only refunded R 580.40. A difference of R 336.60. Discovery said that Lancet Laboratories rate is R 917.00 and had I paid the Medical aid rate It would cost R 540.80. Discovery suggested I ask Lancet to refund me and to process the claim from my medical aid.

However obtaining efficient service from Lancet Laboratories is impossible! I have spoken to 3 Consultants but to no avail. I was also advised that they don't have a manager. Thus i am unable to get basic assistance.

Your service is appalling.
