TOPPLING CAKE

My daughter got married on the 3rd April at a posh venue in JHB. She ordered her dream cake from La Moraine as they are a supp**** to the venue with cakes. The cake order was placed and paid for as they had a black Friday special. The day of the wedding arrives all glamorous and all goes well until I am notified by the co-ordinator that the cake had toppled over.

I did not want to break the news to my daughter at that time as she was over the moon and taking wedding pics ...... The beans were spilt by one of the guests. Which did not sit right with the bride but the show must go on.

The caterer tried to salvage the layers of the cake that was damaged but it was a total disaster.

After the wedding they were contacted by the co-ordinator and they made two offers to us which we declined by my kids they ****** my kids of a special moment and that cannot be captured as you wanted to share this moment with their family and friends.

To cut a long story short ..... I tried calling and eventually I was called by Loraine and I could not speak to her as I work for essential services and promised to call her back in the evening which I did and she did not take my call or return it.

I have sent them a messages and they have not responded. Which says a lot about their passion and customer services.

All I want is for my kids to be refunded at least for half of this cake.

They paid over 10K for this cake which they do have not one picture of them with this cake. She has come up with all sorts of excuses and costs carried in making this cake.

Firstly this is her responsibility, she had to make sure this cake was secured as the height was a huge factor.

She did not take the weather into account as it was a blazing Saturday and wants to get out of the whole dilemma and blaming it on the venue.

Where is their ethics and where is there business problem solving skills as she is avoiding me like the plague ....

She needs to refund my kids that is all and we move on.

Boutique cake shop not at all not highly recommended at all.
