Horrible place with horrible service

To say I was hugely disappointed would be an understatement. We had our wedding on the 11/02/23. We booked the place a year in advance, paid 80% deposit at a go. We specifically told the owner that we will be erecting a tent cause we don't like her lapas (they are filthy and not taken care of, you can be beaten by insects at any time). Their chapel 😭😭 I literally have no words. They store mattresses and broken things there yoooh 🙆♀️🙆♀️

Few weeks before the wedding she tells us that she has an event on the friday before the wedding so she demanded R12k cause she now has to cancel the event due to us pitching our marquee. Clause 14c on the contract states that we can pitch our tent from 15h00 on the day before the wedding. How she doubled booked the place is beyond me. Nonetheless we agreed on R6k before the wedding and we paid because we hate drama. At first she complained about the marquee destroying the grass and we agreed to compensate that cause there was no way to change venues a few weeks before the wedding.

We also booked a couple of rooms to sleep over on the day. Come sunday morning the rooms have no hot water to bath. The very bridal suite that I booked a year ago did not have hot water, we were told some sob story about geyser malfunctioning after loadshedding but there was never any loadshedding the whole day on saturday.

There is nothing positive I have to say about the place: horrible service, horrible management, horrible maintenance. If you wanna have a classy wedding, stay very far away from the place. It's perfect for those ancient weddings with ancient draping in that non maintained lapa. It's also a good place for parties because drunk people don't give an ish, as long as there's music.
