Terrible Stay

We got married on the 26th of March 2021 and as a gift a friend of ours - Lauryn Joseph booked us an evening at your hotel for our honeymoon night which was on the night of the 26th of March - Friday. (Our Confirmation number: *** - Johan Bloem).

I need to express that our stay was terrible and what you advertise on the website to what we experienced is not the same at all. We arrived at the hotel at about 11:30pm. We were tiered and were really looking forward to a good night's rest and enjoy our stay away from home. Firstly for a 5 star hotel should have good parking. The parking area was so full that we had to squeeze in (too little parking for the amount of rooms). One of the guests needed to leave at 5:30am so we had to leave our keys with the staff in order for them to park our car.

When we arrived in our room... the curtains at the door were missing some hooks and it looked terrible. i went to have a shower and as I opened the door the whole frame came loose. I almost fell into the shower - which I must say could have been very serious as I had a neck operation in May. Then as I opened the bathroom door to get out it jammed and I couldn't get out. If my husband wasn't close by I don't know how I would have gotten out.- as he opened it from the other side. There were cups for coffee but only one saucer. This was very unprofessional.

I also asked if they could just make our room look pretty as it was our honenymoon night. Just for them to put rose petals and a bottle of sparkling wine the cost would be R350 extra. (I had been to a 3 star lodge for a valentine's evening before and asked them to just make it look special - which they did with a couple of rose petals a little chocolate and a small bottle of champagne for nothing extra. -that is customer service and going the extra mile)

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I think that this was not the money worth at all and actually I think that we should get a refund.
