Appalling Service and Follow Up

I have used Maternity Matters for assistance with UIF last year. I received my first UIF payment in July after constant follow up from my side. I have not received a second payment to date and after much investigation was told by Department of Labour that my claim has been closed and it was due to Maternity Matters not submitting my claim and documentation on time.

I have repeateddly tried calling Andrea from Maternity Matters between July 2016 and March 2017 but my calls were not taken until I threatened to go to the media. I was then told that the problem lay with Department of Labour as they had closed their offices due to a leaking sewage pipe and passed the buck completely avoiding responsibility, Beside this the communication to the client was erratic, often incomplete and never with a real understanding of what was the real cause for delays.

Upon a thourough investigation with Department of Labour it has emerged that my claim was not submitted in time and therefore closed. Department of Labour has confirmed that even though there has been a sewer leakage at their offices, the paperwork and follow up can be done at any of their offices.

I have still not received communication from Maternity Matters on the status of my claim as they are trying to cover up their appaling service. Their inefficiency, lies and apathy leave mom's that are dependent on the UIF claim in the lurch which they have no empathy for.

As an HR Manager of a big corporate I will be sure to advise future mom's to never venture down the road that I have. There ajre many reputable companies that can do a far better job!
