Decor Disaster

These guys don't even deserve a 1 star in my book, and here is why:

We requested a qoute from them and were told that if we book now and pay a deposit of 50% (R 8 000.00) they would include a mock up for free. As I am a minimalistic bride I thought to myself that we probably won't even use that much and could just get a refund for the monies not used. In good faith we paid the deposit on Monday the 10th of May 2021.

We then had a mock up consultation with them scheduled on the 15th of May @ 12:30 at their offices (that Saturday). Once we arrived we had to wait at least 30 - 40 minutes for them to set the tables, as they apparently got my appointment mixed up with another brides. Upon confronting them about it and actually showing them the messages on my phone sent from their offices, it was simply belittled as if it was not suppose to be a "big deal". Then upon viewing the tables, I was extreamly upset as they did not take into consideration at all as to what I requested in terms of decor, colour scheme etc. As a customer who already paid such a big deposit (and honestly as a bride) I really expected there to be made some effort. It was clear that they had forgotten about our appointment and quickly set up a table while we were waiting outside.

After this disaster, I expressed my dissapointment in an email the day thereafter, to which I received no reply. Later that same evening, I received a whatsapp from them requesting us to sign the terms and conditions and forward it to them before the close of business the next day. I knew we had to get out of this deal and the very next day (Monday, 17 May 2021 - excatly one week after our initial deposit was made) I sent a formal cancellation email to them and requested our refund back.

After multiple follow ups, we finally received confirmation of payment made to us but they had deducted a R 1 000.00 Admin Fee as well as 30% of our deposit as a cancellation fee - even though we did not sign any terms and conditions and cancelled within a week due to terrible service on their part.

I would have had no problem paying for the mock up (even though it was NOT at all what I requestes and that they forgot about it) but taking a 30% cancellation fee and an admin fee for literally doing nothing is not just wrong, it's *********.

We have handed the matter over to our lawyers and hope to get the rest of our deposit back. We will be taking this to court if it comes to that as I would not want any other bride to go through this. It's also just a matter of principle.

Please do not make the same mistake I made, stay away from these guys.
