La Sal guest house 40 10th Avenue Fishoek

This was probably in terms of booking guest houses and staying over the WORST experience my wife and I had.

The owner called early morning, only to leave a missed call and voicemail and yes she asked on the voicemail what time would we be arriving but as my wife was busy at the time she missed the call. She never sent a supposed sms as she said as my wife never got an sms. We arrived just after 16:20 at the establishment only to have no one available to book us in as the owners had left. There was no number to contact the owner on as their contact number is unlisted and we were still unaware of the missed call of earlier the morning. Only if not for a guest that was already staying at the property would we have not had a number to get a hold of the owner. After calling she informed us she would be arriving in 15 minutes but then only arrived more than 40 minutes after I had placed the initial call to her.

After being booked in and wanting to get comfortable we mentioned to the owner that her dogs barking was a disturbance. She then came to ask if we wanted to be moved to the quieter room "around the corner", which we agreed to. Only to find the quieter room "around the corner" was literally another guesthouse that does not belong to this established, has no connection to them whatsoever and which they had also made a booking under a different person's name 4 days prior. Something which left the owner of the other guest house quite baffled.

So altogether really the worst and most unhelpful and bizarre unhelpful experience we've had ever.

Would not recommend the establishment and will follow this up with Safari as to how they will remedy it.
