Unhygienic, poor customer service/care and a wonderful venue location simply ruined!
I stopped off to enjoy a meal at the La Rosa at Rock Cottage, as I was alone on Christmas eve, amid the madness of lockdown and curfew. The table I chose to sit at had not been properly cleaned so I requested my waitress to give it a wipe, which she duly attended to. As I opened my cutlery, wrapped in a sealed paper serviette/napkin, I noticed that the knife was extremely dirty from previous use and had clearly not been properly cleaned/washed. I showed the waitress and requested another set of cutlery. The meal I ate was tasty, although somewhat over-priced. I brought these issues to the attention of the manager on duty with the request that I be contacted as I saw these hygiene issues as opportunity for my consultancy business - holistic health and wellness. I wished to bring to the attention of the owner and management the importance of hygiene and cleanliness, especially during this pandemic! Disease is spread by exactly this route - poor hygiene and safety practices. I dread to see the state of the kitchens! What message is being shared and taught to staff when a restaurant administers doses of sanitiser to patrons while neglecting the most basic of hygiene practises!? Do the staff wash hands? Have they been at all empowered by the learning opportunity the pandemic has thrust upon us!? Then, my offer to help was ignored. This brought my rating down from poor (the meal was nice) to terrible. Finally, I used to enjoy the view from the balcony until someone decided to erect the coloured beams as a facade. What a terrible waste of prime location. Clearly an organisation that is all about the money, simple-minded and inept.
