La Luna Guesthouse - Beware!!!!!

La Luna Guesthouse Gansbaai

In March 2018, Myself and 5 friends went away for the weekend to La Luna Guesthouse in Gansbaai. The Friday when we arrived the housekeeper Thelma explained to us a few things about the house and pointed out that the house alarm is faulty on “sleep” mode. We were instructed not to set the alarm through the night while sleeping as it would go off, previous guests & other people constantly complained about it.

We then obliged and ensured that all the doors were locked before sleeping. The Saturday morning we woke up to find out that the house has been burgled while we were asleep. Forced entry through the side door. The ******s took all our personal belongings (bags, phones, wallets, cell phones and laptops)

When we called the security company Eagle Security, they had told us that the alarm is in perfect working condition. We then called Thelma and she denied that she had told us that the alarm was faulty in the first place.

After waiting 2 months for an answer from the owner and insurance we finally got some sort of response and was told that all the above is untrue and they will not honour the claim.

We are extremely grateful that there was No physical harm as it could have been worse.

I urge you to be more vigilant when on holiday and ensure that all doors are locked and alarm is set.

La Luna is not safe and I would not suggest going there on holiday
