NOT a great holiday...

We first went to the Umlazi Log Cabins in Mtinzini in April 1982, and they were recently reviewed by Go! Magazine as still being a great place to stay. Well, I have to differ from that opinion! We originally booked in January to go there in May 2020, but due to lockdown it was delayed until September 2020. When we arrived the Cabin was "musty" like it hadn't been opened at all for months, never mind specially cleaned because of Covid 19!! The Stove didn't work and the advertised 28 TV Channels were in actual fact, only 3. The ceiling fans only had one speed - full blast like an aeroplane taking off! We reported these issues to the Resort Manager the next day, and he duly arrived at our Log Cabin when we were out. On our return, he was delighted to tell us that he had cut down a tree in order for us to access more Satellite Channels... really?? He also told us that the Stove was now working, and off he went! In reality, he never even bothered to check these facts, and the Stove, although the plug had now been plugged into a different outlet, was STILL not working, and surprise surprise, there were STILL only 3 channels on the TV!! The bathroom was also beyond disgusting with black mould in the Shower and along the top of the Basin... We then decided to leave the next morning and cut our holiday by 3 days. When we asked for a refund, this was declined, as you can imagine. I would NOT recommend these Log Cabins to anyone!
