Poor repairs of vehicle
My vehicle was damaged mid-September 2017, and the bumper, right tyre and right headlight needed replacing. It is now the beginning of December 2017 and I still do not have my car. I was called mid-November, 2 months later, and told my car is ready for collection, only to go there and find that I could fit my fingers in the gap between my headlight and bumper. How can an approved panel beater think that this is okay to give to a client? It is visibly not up to standard. They claimed it was the pirate bumper, but if so, what prevented them from calling me and letting me know of the issue during fitting so I could speak to my insurance asap? Once they received the agents bumper I had the same problem. Only this time, my car sensors were indented and off-centre as well. I requested them to realign it and fix the sensors, and they did (why they couldn't do this the first time around, I do not know), but it is still not aligned properly. Now they claim that it is the pirate headlight. If they had fitted it properly initially, and told me that this was going to be an issue, insurance could have ordered both genuine parts right off the bat and I wouldn't be sitting without a car now. It was also scratched while it was moved around in their care, and one of the major scratches was repaired but was not filled in so now it looks like an indented paint job. On top of it all, I received an email from them stating that I will be charged storage fees since I opted not to take the car into my possession. Note, I would have to pay the excess in order to do so, and in insurance terms this means I am satisfied with the repairs, so I did not take it. This is not acceptable, and I will never be sending any vehicle of mine here again. I will not recommend them to anyone else either. If you are rushing to get cars out before the festive season, don't drop your quality standards, because you can guarantee your number of customers will drop as well.
