Car recovered but won't be handed back to me.

My car was ****** yesterday and recovered yesterday. When I go back today to try and get my car back. They want to run fingerprints on the car while I advice them to drop the charges because all I care about is the car not the person that stole it. The pound station won't give me the car and the police in charge of the case hasn't called me yet to confirm the process of the case. KwaDabeka police service will not gsirect us to the person in charge of the case.
