Manufacturing Disaster : Expensive carnage of rubberwood and oak

<div>In April 2019 we appointed KVH Furniture &amp; design to complete an order for some cabinetry for one our clients. The deposit was paid of R 35000 against some R 55 000 worth of goods.The production turned out to be a bizarre nightmare of back and forth. Despite providing an entire cabinet for which they had to match a stain colour this was not done. The first order was completely wrong on the study units and it cost us giving them the opportunity to rectify this. Despite all assurances, I got to inspect the goods the morning of installation some 5 months later to find the goods were now stained in a mahogany which was nowhere near the sample they provided us with as a match. After returning the goods, I went to the factory where I was met with incredible hostility, verbal abuse and shouting by the one owner *****. I was told in no uncertain terms to take my "sh88" and F off and he will repay my monies... because I had confided in a colleague what had happened who recommended him and he was now embarrassed. I later calmed him down and returned for a third attempt to rectify this order. Pieces were re made , new drawings were issued and a sample of the drawer given again for the new stain colour by giving them another sample of the stain from the client's desk drawer. The third attempt was worse than the second. The units colour was horribly inconsistent and two different materials were used - when I asked why they used Oak frames on Rubberwood, he said I should ask the installing manufacturer who worked for him why it was done? You can imagine my surprise when I felt " but you haven't even checked this yourself before sending this out?" My client returned to see what was delivered and flatly refused to accept the goods so they were returned once again. I then decided I needed someone better to complete this work, I would attempt to get this done elsewhere and if fixed we could all be settled up and I could save face for him and my work and reputation with my client. **** agreed. I sourced the furniture polishers to assist me and asked **** to deliver the furniture. I was stunned to see the goods were piled onto a truck like garbage and dumped at my new manufacturer like firewood. R 35 000.00 worth of carnage. Needless to say I was told they could use the carcasses but the sides were unfortunately beyond repair. I have had to sit down with my client and suppliers and renegotiate our now 4th attempt at fixing this order. This was done now and we stand to install next week Monday having painted the carcasses, fitted new doors, drawer faces and such on and new shelves and tops. My costs are in excess of the work that has had to be corrected and despite a very polite legal letter I have had no word from KVH Furniture (&amp; "Design") PTY Ltd or *****. I think we have acted in every body's best interests in trying to do the right thing - but to absolutely no avail. I have demanded our deposit back and received no word. The matter is now with the attorney for summons demanding remuneration and compensation for damages to the work and our reputation with our client.&nbsp;</div>
