When a trusted service can no longer be trusted

On the 26-11-2015 I had a flight back to CPT from JHB. The flight was delayed a few times and we were eventually told we will be taking of at 22:00. Almost an hour after the intended time. I understand technical issues are a problem sometimes unavoidable, but the general attitude towards the situation made the trip even worse. There was no variety with the food on-board, as they weren't able to replenish stock. The attitude around that was also just poor.

When your flight is so badly delayed that you only leave the airport at 00:50, an automated \we apologise for any inconvenience caused"message ****es you off more than it helps sooth things. When YOUR plane is badly delayed and knowing it's the last flight out"

Hello jared_vdm,

Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback. I do apologise for the frustration caused due to the 58 minute delay experienced.

We try hard to keep to our published schedule as we understand the impact it has on our customers. Any delays to our schedule due to factors within our control are only imposed when absolutely necessary as it has a business impact on us as well. Some occasions, we have no alternatives and in such cases, we do have to impose the delay.

We had experienced a few flight delays yesterday and unfortunately from a scheduling perspective, aircrafts flying other routes may also be impacted if an aircraft is delayed on these routes and then is operating a subsequent route. It is never our wish to disappoint our customers , however in the airline industry nothing is set in stone due to the nature of our business.

Catering is fully loaded on the first departure flights of the day, this catering must last for two sectors. After the aircraft has flown two sectors, the crew will reconcile the catering onboard. If the catering is short , they will order to top up stock and there are occasions of overselling .

Kind Regards

Fazila Khan
