waited 60min to be helped

Phoned Kulula before flying to arrange for my pet to travel with me. The call centre informed me that I have to be at the airport 2hours prior to my flight to check in my pet. When I got there I waited 60min to be helped. I am very disappointed. They did not even inform me where to collect my pet once I arrived in Cape Town.

Hello Doulin,

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us.

As of the 4th May 2015, we no longer accept domestic pets and live animals at all our check-in counters (excluding service dogs which are permitted for check-in and in the cabin). The policy will also apply to British Airways operated by Comair, check-in counters and flights. This new process provides a modernised animal-friendly environment for the acceptance and delivery of domestic pets and will ensure that your pet reaches their destination safely and comfortably.

The pet lounge has been developed to give each pet and other animals the positive experience it deserves when travelling by air. Lanseria airport does not have the lounge as yet, but a BidAir pet facility and they have a team of agents whom look to the needs of each pet or animal travelling.

We escalated your comments to relevant managers. You can call ***or email *** to arrange the transportation of your pet at least 48hours prior to departure.

Thank you for allowing us the opportunity of a response and do once again apologise for the inconvenience and frustration caused.

Kind regards,
Thuli
