Unbelievably POOR service

I was booked on Kulula flight MN910 from George to Johannesburg that was scheduled to depart from George at 10:15. I was booked on connecting Kulula flight MN623 from Johannesburg to Durban that was scheduled to depart from Johannesburg at 13:20. Upon check-in at George Airport I was told that MN910 was delayed by 4 hours!! When I mentioned that I had a connection to Durban the person at the check-in counter pointed me to the ticket office. May I add that my flight booking was for business and not pleasure.

I went to the counter and everyone that was affected had the same question. Why weren't we warned via sms or email that our flight was delayed? and why wasn't there a backup plan? I had to demand place on a later flight, and that Kulula also book me on a later connecting flight!! The poor people on the sales desk were clearly out of their depth!

I was subsequently booked on MN926 and MN603, but one of my clients that I was supposed to meet in Durban at 15:00 had to cancel as he flew out of Durban at 16:45 and I only arrived in Durban at 18:15. This has resulted in my company loosing huge potential business.

The last 4-5 Kulula flights that I have taken were all delayed

Hello chriskriek001,

Thanks very much for your time to get in touch with us. On the outset, please accept our most sincere apologies for the frustration caused to you whilst using our services.

Various reasons can affect a flights scheduled time of departure; some are within our control while others may not be. I am sure you will agree the safety of our passengers and staff will always be our main priority.

MN910/13 Aug was delayed for 6h49min due to rotational reasons. A flight earlier that morning MN618 experienced a technical problem in Durban and this disruption became a rotational issue that impacted on your flight because the same aircraft was scheduled to operate MN910.

We do understand the incredible inconvenience that delays may cause our customers however, we cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of this industry. Given the complexity of the airline industry, it is inevitable that things will go wrong from time to time despite our best efforts.

Thank you for allowing us the opportunity of a response and we apologise for the frustration caused.

Kind regards,
Thuli
