Thank you for taking the time tell us about your daughter's experience .
I certainly can understand your frustration and disappointment in this regard . There are various reasons why a customer could be denied a seat, the most common being aircraft changes where the original aircraft is no longer available mostly due to technical problems. This results in an aircraft change and in some cases the configuration of the new aircraft is smaller than the original resulting in customers being accommodated on alternative flights.
On occasions, depending on the route, day and time we sometimes conservatively overbook our flights. The occasional overselling of flights is an established airline business practice, throughout the world. From time to time, this practice is also app**** to Comair flights.Where we overbook, we are prepared to provide compensation in terms of the relevant South African Consumer laws. It is never our wish to disappoint nor frustrate our customers and when disruptions occur we ensure we do all possible to minimise the inconvenience.
Thank you for allowing me to respond .
Bye for now.
